They say the war is just about over
But still there is fighting going on.
The terrorists take no pause or rest
As new skirmishes are being born.

I see the yellow ribbons tied
Around the lamp posts out front
Neighbors took the initiative
And saved us from the grunt.

A gesture that is to remind us
And to show the passers by
That we know that there are those
To whom our gratitude is most high.

The flags will wave and the ribbons flail
All for our blessed soldiers sake
And  these will stay right in their place
Until the victorious march home they make.
