Introductions Once we were out of the classroom, we briskly walked to the instructed door and stood there. Finally, Mia exclaimed, "Are we going to go in, or are we just going to stand here?" "Oh! Of course, it's just that I have a bad feeling about this." "You mean walking into a room? The worst thing that could happen is you get hit by the door frame." Mia replied sarcastically. "Whatever." I quickly pushed open a door into a room exactly like the one we were in before. But instead, this one was filled with students. This one though, was filled with pranksters. All of them wore half-animal costumes of all varieties-they were incredibly realistic too. If you counted all they different costumes, you would see wolves, wild cats, squirrels, eagles, deer, and even a few people were farrets and ducks. As confused as I was, Mia asked, "Wait, why do all of, including the professor, dressed as animals?" "Welcome!" one of the students exclaimed, ignoring the question, "I'm Taylen and I'll show you around the school." She, or Taylen, as she said, was a girl with dirty-blonde hair and beautiful eyes. In fact, while the right was a shining blue, the left was a shimmering green. She wore a casual yet formal shirt and skinny jeens. The thing that made her the star in the room was the polished antlers for a deer costume that went well with her eyes and made her stand out in a crowd. Wow, she could be a model, I thought, but I kept my thoughts to myself. "Anyways," Taylen continued, "This is a pretty small school as you can probably see. And if you want to attend, you are required to spend four years of schooling here. So you can't just not come and then decide you wantee to and attend next year. Also, there are not a lot of students attending this school, so it's easier to get to know the other students and teachers personally. There are actually only about forty sophomores this year. This is actually everyone that for sure is attending. We don't know for sure how many freshman will attend, but we're pretty sure that it'll be about forty to forty-five students. Ah! I'm getting off topic here. Zach and I will show you around the campus. Right Zach?" Just then a form stepped from out of the crowd of teenagers. His bright blue eyes sparkled in the light and his dark brown hair, much like mine, was brushed and newly trimmed. He was well muscled bit not bulky. His charming smile reached his eyes as he studied me. I spared a quick glance at Taylen, who was gazing at his with longing, and I had a twist in my gut. She likes him; that much was obvious. But I doubt Zach knows. Oh, if I can get them together, I'll be scoring a few new friends. And helping Taylen out, I thought with a smirk plain on face. As Taylen yanked her eyes from him, she said, "Well, we'll show you around. Let's get a move on." "Sure," Zach said. His voice was surprisingly gentle and bouncy. So, he wasn't the average selfish, confident football star. More like a gentle giant. When my mind came back to Earth, Zach was striding out of the room, an unstoppable force, so I did the only thing I could do, follow him along with Mia, Taylen beside him. "Let's show them the cafeteria first for lunch, and show them the dorms last, so they can unpack there," he explained to Taylen. He turned to us, "Is that ok with you guys?" "Oh yeah, sure," I replied quickly. "Then let's go. I'm starving!" Mia exclaimed. "Hey maybe they could meet the squad at dinner!" Zach exclaimed. I felt like we were becoming friends, and quickly too. Apparently, Zach agreed with me. My heart quickened with excitement. I never had very many friends, and the thought of belonging somewhere made my heart swell. And then I walked into the cafeteria. It was definitely a large room-big enough to fit about fifty people- with some fancy decor. The tables were a dark, polished, and quality wood with plush green armchairs to sit in. On the side was a bar that had the capacity to feed people in a line with what I could see as first class food. They had pure white plates and high standard stoves through the doorway to the kitchen. "Am I in heaven, cause I think I fell and hit my head on my way here. Or else I'm just going insane." "For once, I agree with Mia," I sighed. Woah, if the campus is this good, why wouldn't everyone come here? She said that a lot of people refuse to come, but why wouldn't they? What secret is this school hiding?
