#380 THE WAR Read Count : 110

I am in hiding under cold, wet ground
With no one to look to for safety, sake.
Above there are just guns provoking sound
On wasted land men are in want to take.
I cannot get out even for a peek around.
Invisible I must, myself here make.
I cover my poor ears for less to hear
And dwell within myself to hide my fear.

I pray to God to give much wanted peace,
Not only to me, but all the soldiers too;
For all of us are of needed release,
As this is a most painful thing to do.
These soldiers are not clad in gray or blue.
Still freedom, and for peace they have to kill
But I wish that this need not be their will.
