402 FIRE! FIRE! Read Count : 99

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
A gray and smoky sky is dimming light.
The brush is swaying wildly in the breeze
The moon looms darkened in the clouded night.
Small particles floating bring on a sneeze.
A flash of light has spawned a fiery surge.
The Embers glow as tiny lightning bugs.
To get in with the firemen is an urge
As they fight violently with strong hose tugs.
Oh what can I do? How can I join in,
When I have not been so, so amply trained?
Nor am I dressed in clothes to help them win.
Or boots to keep my feet from being strained.
All I can do is pray and hope for rain
