#199 TEA PARTY WITH DAD Read Count : 127

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
Oh Daddy, Daddy, I have something for you.
Please sit at my table, please do, please do.
So Daddy sits on a chair which isn’t very strong
And tries to get his legs around, which are so long.
Just for you Daddy, my pot I filled with tea
Here is my cup and saucer, which is so wee.
A cookie I put on your plate.
Oh, Daddy isn’t this just great?

An angel he sees with a twinkle in her eyes.
It seems just like last night that he sang her lullabies.
Now a grown-up she is pretending to be.
To my heart she surely will always hold the key.
I think of the future when I’ll walk her down the aisle.
But quickly I return to this adoring little child.
I’m freezing this memory deep in my mind.
One over the years I will be looking to find.
