HEAR YE, HEAR YE

Hear ye, hear ye, I have something to proclaim.
I’m getting a new grandchild, but not yet know its name.
I know the baby will be perfect in each and every way,
And I just can’t wait for that wonderful happy day.

Life will be changed in a minute and will forevermore,
But I’ll be looking forward to the blessings I have in store.
For being a grandmother is a certain delight.
We get to do things over, this time we’ll get it right.

Spoiling with presents grandmother’s have the right.
Giving love tremendous, and not staying up all night.
We don’t expect much in return except kisses and hugs,
as we struggle to get down and play with them on rugs.

We are always ready to baby sit and with wide open arms,
Enjoying every minute of it, being in their charms.
To grandmother’s house they love to come, and as greeted,
Cookies fill their little hands as soon as they are seated.

We know that quickly time will pass and they will grow up.
So we enjoy every minute of it while we eat them up.
Soaking in the memories, and the test of time they’ll stand.
For being a grandmother is so much more than grand.
