The Thing With Trump ... Read Count : 166

As we hit the 100 day mark of Trump's presidency, it is a good time to reflect on the impact and impression he has made on the nation and the world.

My assessment of Trump to this point is that he has proven to be a liar and hypocrite of legendary status. The examples are ubiquitous and can be easily accessed by a Google search.

He has shown no inclination to learn on the job, preferring to make decisions the way he did in his business. But threats and bluster simply don't work in D.C. nor on the world stage.

His refusal to release his tax returns, the taint of his business holdings influencing tax reform and the highly questionable people he has brought into his administration leave one feeling queasy.

I am in my sixties and have been following presidential politics for over fifty years. With Trump, I have never had such a consistently high level of anxiety for the welfare of our nation. I fear Trump is systematically weakening our interests in: environment, education system, middle class stability/mobility via meaningful job growth, social security/medicare, healthcare, and defense/world peace.

Most troubling, Trump has damaged relationships between the presidency and the press, judiciary and Congress. Sadly, there is nothing he says or does where I do not question his motive. Perhaps that has a lot to do with his underlying aura of corruptness and probable ties to Russia that I just can't shake.
