#167 STUFFED ANIMALS Read Count : 118

Teddy bears, kitty cats and
	even “Shamu” the whale,
A bed full of stuffed animals,
	each one has a tale.

There’s the one that played a lullaby
while I was put to sleep,
And the dog that barked and did
himself a jig, and then begin to creep.

One went to the hospital and
until I was well did stay.
Others I picked up on vacations,
and at parks along the way.

There was the one I punched and kicked
	whenever I was mad,
And the one that made me smile again
	and made me glad.

I can’t forget the snake that slithered
across the bed; I used it as a whip
While fighting with my siblings
and giving too tight a grip.

For when its stuffing came out and
	it lost its tongue,
The towel I filled my tears with
	could almost then be wrung.

Hugs and kisses and smiles and wishes
	these stuffed animals have brought.
I couldn’t bear to part with any one
no matter how hard I thought.
