She didn't understand. "How is this human doing this?" She held her fist up parallel to her cheek with her first two fingers pointing and eyebrows furrowed as if focused to some place right in front of her face. Her body tingled and threw a few sparks, but no usable magic. She shut her eyes and sighed. Sniffing the air she could only smell the salty mildew air. The familiar, lumbering type running sound was getting close. She cringed as moisture filled her hazel eyes.

The streets were full of rats and sleeping beggars only. On three occasions that she yelled for help or scream she only received insults and stones. "...hate humans! They truly deserve their diseases and to die! After I escape this Hell I'm bringing an epidemic back worth them! Ugh!" She whispered. She scanned around the shipping yard. Some old buildings were in sight. She ran.

His painful, blue passion glowed though his breeches. Though his oversized nostrils he inhaled deeply. His eyes shifted wildly as he chased the love of his life down cobble stone streets. He called out to her, " I can smell you from a mile away my lilac bloom, ha ha ha ha". Despite his obesity he moved like a God running in the Olympian games. Something inside seemed to speak to him. He couldn't see her directly anymore, but he still ran toward the old fishery.

She whispered "Why can't I shut it off on him?" looked down then sighed. "This should be the perfect place to hide from a human that can barely see in the dark." She hustled around, found all the lamps that she could and threw them off the dock.

Standing outside of one of the abandoned buildings he pulled a chain from around his neck. A small, dark purple ball hung from it. He stared deeply at it. It glowed for a moment then abhorrent dark. His eyes widened, he whispered, "Wow_____!" Then called out loud, " I'm coming for you my sweet lilac! Xoe Green you're mine tonight. Now I know you love me, because if you didn't you would have gave in to me a long time ago when you first moved into my room at the hostel. We would have made love, broke up then been done with it except you would be begging me to let you come back but I wouldn't because I don't date despite women!" By then he was in the middle of the building without any trouble and without a lamp. He took a deep breath then headed directly to Xoe's side of the building.

She could no longer feel her toes and her ankles were going next. The clumping sound off someone on the dock alerted her, "Oh my Lilac why did you jump in? You know that your fate is with me. Take my hand and I'll warm you up." She shuttered, closed her eyes, held her breath and dove in.

The crevice between the buildings was wet and covered with moss. It reminded her of home a little, but it was still no comfort. His breath streamed over her. It smelled like rotten fish and garlic. He hung out a tongue that was like coal. Of back covered hand reached on for her while the other reached for to take down his breeches. "Here it is. Time to have you. You'll evade me no longer strawberry. Ha ha ha ha". Her throat was sore from screaming and no one cared, but she...

She suddenly woke soaked in sweat and spitting out a little vomit. Her demeanor went from frightened to angry then to heavily annoyed in just a moment "Greasy 'ol bastard! This room always stinks! Human seat always smells worst than any creature, even Ogers and no matter what fragrance potion I use... 12,000 humans stench must be embedded... Oh, forget it Xoe, the orb is the most important."

Pages of a book, filled with hand written Greek letters, hovered over the palm of her hand. Gently turning them she skimmed over it. "I've read this relic forever. So why does that old mystic sware by it? From what I can discern in it the missing piece to the box of Willard, is in the catacombs. But in which part Tog? It isn't clear. Let's go see Freta, she might not offer any more information, but at least she has the best breakfast in the providence."

"Here's a nice hunk of cheese for my darling little rat." Her voice was soft, almost a whisper and sweet. He crossed his eyes, wrinkled his nose, stood on his hind legs and threw it back at her. It bounced off of her nose. " Old witch you know I don't like cheese! Give me some fresh grapes and an apple." Her blue eyes sparked brightly and went with her brilliant smile as she brushed her dark auburn hair off of her face. " Oh silly Tog I'm sorry, of course I recognize you. You remember that I like to tease my minions or have you been away too long? He he he ha ha" She placed his food on a plate in front of him. " I was expecting you this morning so here you go baby." "Do you have any wine?" "He he silly boy of course I do" She slid a wooden goblet, his size, in front of him. "Xoe must be up to her usual, hey?" "She wanted to bring a gift. She should be here soon.

Xoe could smell the beast. Definitely human, but her intuition told her he was very dangerous. She pulled an arrow taught against her bow then inched into the forest.
