#284 I'M AT PEACE

I’m sitting here staring out into space. Neither a frown nor a smile is on my face. I’m not feeling lonely or crowded in this place, But peacefulness and quiet is what I taste. No hurry or bustle to make me feel slow, For there is nothing to do and nowhere to go. I’m not feeling warm and not feeling cold. Peace and contentment down deep I behold. There are no distractions changing my thought Nothing has to be done, nor things that aught. So, so still and blissfully away from all guilt I can almost feel the earth move with its tilt. My eyes closed and my body gone weak I thank God for this time being so rare, even unique. © Copyright 2000 by Jean E. Gorney
