Mom will be Mom and Dad will be Dad,
And for this we are extremely glad.

Whether it’s sympathy or discipline we need,
Mom or Dad will be there as fast as a steed.

Boys will be boys and girls will be girls.
Their hair may be short or hanging in curls.

Troubles we find with twinkles in our eyes
Where our rescues are sometimes in disguise.

Hugs and kisses or tosses or tweaks,
Their love is from our head to our sneaks.

So whether it’s Mom or whether it’s Dad,
Their love will make us ever so glad.
