We’re coming upon the New Year,
The media has us all stirred up.
Will we be able to find what we need there?
Or will we be looking into an empty cup?

The skies are quite sunny and blue.
Everything is running smooth and right.
Could all we see and know now turn to
A big crash up in one single night?

People running here, there and everywhere
Storing up every supply in sight,
While others sitting there wondering,
Need for all this worry just can’t be right.

Computers may be a heartbeat of our universe,
As a lot more comes to life with them here.
Sometimes we may want to give them a curse,
But without them we would be left where?

A century turned; the New Year came and went
With all kinds of noise and celebration.
Everyone was freed, their worries were spent
And they danced around in elation.

Our world didn’t come to a complete sop,
As most owners did their computers prepare.
Businesses just couldn’t let their businesses stop
And have nothing to sell for buy there.

Now some have the problem of their stockpile.
Charities are asking to rid them of their wares.
It must be great not having to shop for a long while
Unless expiration dates are their next cares.

And yet another century has just begun,
As everyone this year just celebrated;
But to some it won’t be all the true fun,
Until next year when the real millennium is stated.

Happy New Year!
