#263 WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY EYES? Read Count : 121

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
Everything I see is hazy; I feel like I’m walking in a fog.
Something is in my eye, but it can’t be the proverbial log.

So it’s off to the eye doctor, and this is what he says,
“There’s only one way I can get you out of that haze.”

There really aren’t any options in order for me to choose.
Cataract surgery is the fix so my eyesight I won’t lose.

Oh no! that’s done in the hospital I fear to say,
“Will it hurt or take my breath away?”

The doctor answered, We don’t even have to put you out.
It’s over so fast that to others you will want to shout.

Look! I’ve had my surgery. You all look so clear and bright,
And I didn’t even have to stay over -- not one single night.

Now my driving is better; and I don’t give my wife a fright.
Things I haven’t seen in so long are now brightly in my sight.

There was no pain, just some annoying drops.
Don’t wait or fear it for soon you eyesight will be tops.
