As a six year old, I was growing up in Philadelphia,
a really big and busy city,
When I got hit by a car while playing in the street which
Mom and Dad thought was a pity.

So with a small settlement from my injury, they put a down
payment on a country house they had bought.
Safety and peace is what we would all get there
	is surely what they thought.

Soon after moving in my birthday came
when I became a little girl of seven.
So far I hadn't given much thought to God or Jesus
	or even to that heaven.

But then Mom took us children to the little church
	in the next country town,
And there is where I found the love of Jesus
	did so abundantly abound.

Mom was very active supporting our church and
we soon knew where our priorities should be
We attended every service and event that was offered
	even though we were wee.

“Good News Club” was my favorite
A meeting held on Wednesday after school
There, as well as at home ,I learned wrong from right
and how to follow the golden rule.

We memorized Bible verses and sang songs
and learned of the love of God.
A young seven-year old girl my hands in a fold
and I gave my heart to God.

We sang, “Come into my heart Lord Jesus, Cast out my
sin and enter in. Come into my heart Lord Jesus
Come in today, come in to stay,
come into my hear Lord Jesus.

My heart welled up, my soul was saved
and never did I feel more love,
And never was I more at peace than when
Jesus flew into my heart like a dove.

While my little heart grew, so did God's love
and filled it with so many joys.
When I became a Mother, I passed along God's love
to my own little girl and boys.

I'll forever thank my Mom for bringing me
to God's house so very young.
Peace is in my heart today as I sit by my grandson
in his church while a hymn is being sung.
