#108 HURRAY THE FLAG IS COMING Read Count : 104

Hurray the flag is coming, waving high in a parade.
It’s the 4th of July, Independence Day.
Bands are playing their marching tunes
With marchers in costumes along the way.

People are clapping and raising their hands.
There come some clowns who will put a smile
On all of the children who run out to meet.
While not even looking tired after walking a mile.

With flowers and flags, maybe Betsy Ross too,
Floats are all decorated up to get your attention.
Numbers are painted for the judges to see
For hopes of at least getting honorable mention.

A chill comes over me, as I watch by the road
While the soldiers and sailors march by me.
I thank the Lord that they are there this day
Reminding me of what it takes to be free.

After a picnic and the family plays and has fun,
It’s off to the fireworks if in luck with the weather.
The memories of this day are deepened in our soul,
We thank God for all of us being FREE here together.
