#235 THE BEAST IN US Read Count : 52

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
Keep your eye on the beast that lies within us all.
It always wants to get out if you listen to its call.

Should you give in and listen to its guise?
But then you think that this would not be wise.

Still it pulls and tugs and will not let you go.
It wants to wear you down so you’ll let it show.

Push it back into the deep, don’t listen to its nagging.
Whatever the beast gets you to do, you’ll not be bragging.

Piling, heaping on your head,
He’ll not let you go, you dread.

Knock off the beast, don’t listen to what he said.
Listen to the angel on your shoulder instead.
