#229 THE WOES OF AWAKENING Read Count : 91

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
My body stirs as the peace of night wanes.
Thoughts adrift as my body slowly moves with pains.
Twisting and turning and at last my eyes open wide.
Day after day, I've taken this awakening in stride.
For such is the life of my body with its woes.
I'm not sprinting as a youngster this morning shows.
I could lie around here and catch an extra wink;
But I'll answer the call of the sunshine, I think.
For stiffness, aching, and soreness don't just disappear;
Sitting on the bed pulling my fingers through my hair.
A smile crosses my face as I think how lucky I am
God has filled me with passion to get up and go again.
