Memories Don't Leave My memories never leave me, but the people attached to them do, trust betrayed. The innocent whispers of reassurance and hope turn my once snow white wings to ash, grace denied. My memories never lie to me, but the truth always hurts, always makes you afraid. The reaching of hands that slapped down my pride and tried to make me someone else, trying to make me see the monster inside. I asked for love and got hate. So I fell in love with a Horsemen named War. I asked for advice and got criticism. Slammed by closed doors. I asked for you acceptance and got rejection. Humiliated by judgemental hands and voice mirrors. I asked for you and got no one. Neglected by false care and betrayed by my tears. Memories don't leave but you always will... ©Marie McNeill
