Old things have such character and teach us oh so much, 
Whether we just look at them or have to feel their touch. 

Some things are so beautiful, while others to history will lend, 
Whether they have stood the test of time or need to have a mend. 

We can learn what's helpful for the future from looking at the past, 
And build for generations to come something that will last. 

So if we take care of every day things for others they will reach, 
Nobody can live long enough to learn all that history can teach.
