#580 HIDING BEHIND A CLOWN Read Count : 93

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
I’m inspired to be attired
In a silly kind of dress
A perky hat, a smirky smile
And you can guess the rest

Painted eyes and polka dots
Big shoes are on my feet
A rose in hand that isn’t grand
It’s spray is not so sweet

Balloons made into animals
All to entertain the young
Little ones or young at heart
I might even stick out my tongue

I’m really not so thin inside
Not needing a pillow-stuffed suit
And my face that is hidden now
Alas, is not so very cute

But joy I have within my heart
That I cannot keep inside
I have to share it with all I meet
Even the kids at the playground slide

And the parties I’m invited to
Give me full range to trick or treat
Or give to you a picture of
Someone who is fun to meet

So smile when you see a clown
For a clown is one who knows
A smile can bring warmth inside
No matter what he shows
