#374 THE ANTS Read Count : 97

I am having a terrible nightmare
It's so scary, more so than most
Dreaming I was covered in ants
As morning time came close

Thrashing and tossing all about
This war I dream I must surely win
Ants covering me from head to toe
A swarm of ants I was covered in

I couldn’t get them from my bed
All over I was getting so many bites
As I'm brushing off the many ants
Suddenly awake, an end to my fright

Low and behold! there are no ants
That I can see to give me harm.
Boy was that such a great relief
As shivers went down my arm

Seeing my husband grab his pants
Awake now laying on my bed
Noticing telephone wires coming in.
Hurrying outside to the yard he said

Putting my foot down on the floor,
As I scream I now I knew where
Sitting on the edge of the bed
Watching ants crawling everywhere

Coming in with the telephone wire
Now these were really live ants
I knew it was not a dream anymore
They covered the floor with their prance

Not a one was on me or even on my bed
To save me from this possible strife
Who could have woke me in time
Who cares so much about my life

I’m not getting out of the bed now
I jump back in and begin to say
A prayer to the One who on watch
Keeps me safe thru night and day.

I see my husband coming now
With spray can in his hand
Thereafter the ants were put to rest
Jumping from bed I safely land

This is a true story.
