Orientation
What? I was just going to go to the public school, but a private sounds way better.
My mom interrupted my thoughts, "What do you have there?" She continued to set the table for the two of us.
"It's just a letter..."
"Hmm? From who?" She questioned.
"A private school called Robinwood," I replied.
She almost dropped the plate, but instead quickly set it down, "Really? Well lets see if you can go!" She was suddenly bursting with energy to read it. She practically ripped it from my hands and quickly scanned it. "Hmm, yeah, I belive you can attend. After all, they did send you an invatation. And hey, you artistic skills have finally found a use!"
"M-o-o-m!"
"I kidding, relax, but this talent might really take you somewhere besides a hobby. Why don't you check it out after the public school's; just in case you don't like it," explained mom.
"Ok, but I gotta run, so I can catch up to Mia and still not be late."
"See you soon sweetie!"

So then I walked and walked until my feet hurt. I could not walk this far to school every day! And I couldn't get mom to get me to school every day-she already works hard enough trying to keep money on the table. Once again, I paused to remember it must be hard to be a single mom.
A excited wail pierced my sad, depressing thought, "Amel! AMEL!" The sound of pounding feet against the sidewalk got closer and closer, until arms rapped around me and practically huged me to death.
"Let...m-me...go," I rasped.
"Fine!" She wailed, "But I haven't seen you since the end of 8th grade! You have so much catching up to do."
"You do too Mia," I replied.
"Whatever! I just got the coolest thing ever though in the mail this morning," she exclaimed.
"I bet mine's better"
"No way. We'll say them at the same time."
I started to count, "On three. One... two...THREE!"
"I got a letter from Robinwood Prep!" We bellowed in unison.
"Wait, what? You too?" I starred at her like she grew three heads. Wait, did that mean-
"Amel! We can go to school together!"
"Ooh yes! How did you get in? Apparently they liked my artistic skills," I questioned.
"They liked my buffness"
"You mean your physical activity?"
"Yeah, yeah same thing..."
"If you say so..."
"I do," she replied.
"Smarty pants," I accused. I couldn't help but sometimes let my inner child show, especially when around Mia. She always seems to make me act foolish and young again. Hah! Like i'm old! I'm not even fifteen yet.
"Hey, your the nerd here," Mia sneered.
"Ok fine, you win, but we still have to go to the other, pubic school too or my mom will kill me. Or at least, I have to go," I said.
"I'll come too, but we all know it's pretty pointless, right?" She sighed.
"Yes, now come on, lets go!"

It turns out, Mia was right. It was a pretty pointless trip. We had a boring lecturer on how good their school was, "got to know eachother" through weird activities, and finally had more lecturers about doing good in school and all that stuff. Is it possible to die of bordom? If it is, I think I already have.
"Ugh, I hope the other school isn't nearly as boring. Or else i'm gonna die!" Mia exclaimed.
"Calm down drama queen. But I do have to agree with you. That was incredibly boring. I don't know how they did it."
"Well, go and find out if Robinwood is any better," and with that, she ran off, her long legs gliding through the parking lot.
"Like that's much of a challeng," I replied, but she was already gone.

  • I hope everone liked that chapter! Though the next chapter is probably really long, so it might not come out for a while. It really just depends... I might split it up into two chapters, but it's really important, so I might not be able to do that. Well, anyways pks give me feedback and tell me how to do better! I would love to know, as long as your not too mean... :( Stay away haters!
