The Mummers so fancy in feathers and fluff. From their feet to their headdress, all duded up. I can’t wait to hear the music they play, As they dance around the street in their special way. Strutting and plucking and blowing their horns. Making such great music and being so adorned. There’s silver and glitter and colors so bright. Oh my! They make such a glorious sight. I stretch and I reach and I climb underneath. The crowd is so heavy; I often just see feet. I struggle and stretch and finally get out to see. Oh, will you let someone take a picture of you with me? I’ll have it to treasure I thank you and say. For a day with the mummers has been a very grand day. © Copyright 1997 by Jean E. Gorney
