I’m not feeling well so to the doctor I go. He drops me off with, “I’ll be back before you know.” Waiting and waiting I’m sitting in line. The doctor is busy and it takes so much time. Just what is the problem he finally says. You just don’t seem to look sick in the normal ways. I’m always so tired and nauseous it seems, And an exam is what he feels will be the extreme. So if you must doc, it’s my very first time. The table is so cold, but I don’t feel fine. I see a baby on the way he exclaims with glee! Well, I’ll be darned I seem to agree. Now it all fits together, the sick and the sad. It all turns to happiness, I’m ever so glad. So off to the car as I get picked up out front. “It’s a baby!” He yells as traffic stops to surround. We are so happy, and now we feel so complete. It’s a baby, and we can’t wait to see how sweet. © Copyright 1997 by Jean E. Gorney
