I see gingham's and plaids, stripes and flowers galore,
Yes, I’m standing in the middle of a fabric store.
There are ribbons and laces and buttons and thread.
“What are you making?” the sales lady said.
I really don’t know yet, my answer is quick.
But I better start out with this here yardstick.
I’ll add some of these needles and then I will look
At some of the patterns in this here book.
Oh look there is a skirt and vest to go together.
My wouldn’t they look so good in leather.
I’ll get this in my size and try it in black,
Maybe I’ll just go down the street and buy off the rack.
