I could forget you
If I tried real hard
The energy I would get from it
Wouldn't get me very far

I could hide behind the smile
I would plaster on my face
If the tears on my eyes
Didn't leave any trace

I could sleep alone at night
In my cold, cold bed
Never remembering your warmth
With your image in my head

I could be wrapped in the dark
And hear a creepy sound
I wouldn't reach for your hand
Yearning for you to be around

I could stand on two feet before you
With my head held high
I could call you on the phone
And hang up before I cried

I could fall into your arms
And forget all of my fears
I mean, I could forget you
And not have any tears

I mean to keep my focus
When I am forgetting you
This isn't working out
So the fact is,
I can't forget you
