Until Winter Ends Read Count : 152

I sit beneath a sleeping tree,
Who's leaves are gone like the autumn breeze,
It's limbs droop with the weight of life,
As if it counts my days of strife.
The absence of my friend emits a heavy groan, Wearing me down till I'm nothing but bone,
Until the winter ends I lie awake and mourn,
His absense leaves me to think some more.
To worry, to wait, to wonder and weep,
I call his name with no victory.
Soon he'll return from the war,
Sit beside me on the Earthly floor,
He'll sit beneath a sleeping forest,
Until then I wait to flourish,
Till the world starts to spin again,
I'll keep his heart safe with mine till the end
