We’ve got our tickets and we’re off for our ride. We’re headed to Florida by way of the sky. It’s our very first ride high up in a plane, And we hope it won’ scare, but entertain. Children are waving good bye we see through the glass. Waving back to each other saying this trip will be a blast. Taxing out on the runway, we’re sure ready to go, And then instead of faster the plane goes real slow. We’re turning around and we don’t know why, Then we are told this plane is not ready to fly. A long time something is fixed and out again we go, We’re still not going faster but turning around slow. Again for the second and third times back to the hanger. Our children still waving as they are hanging in there. We’re all concerned now with 3 fixes and a 3-hour delay. We wonder if we really do want to go up and away. Then soon we are off and flying high in the air, An hour and a half more and we’ll finally be there. © Copyright 1997 by Jean E. Gorney
