#100 The Flood Read Count : 95

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
A flood has suddenly come over our town
Everywhere you look there is water on the ground
Cars are sunken and boats are afloat
The air has turned chilled and I need a coat
I'm standing in high window looking over the mess
Learning that my house has really been put to the test
Some tings are sunken and I can't find them about
While other stuff is floating on up and out-stretched
No matter how fast the water may recede
It will be a long time before we have all we need
But happy we are to have saved things on the top floor
Things that we can cherish but can't buy at the store
Then as we all sit holding onto each other
We pray to the Lord who we know will help us recover
We thank Him for the blessing of our lives and our friends
Knowing we'll be together to help as each one mends
