#1 PRECIOUS MOMENTS Read Count : 124

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
This is the first poem I wrote. It was a surprise when I read it to my daughter and her new husband at their wedding reception. I was encouraged to keep writing so here I am.

To Valerie & Jerry who are so happy today
May there be more joy than sorrow along the way.
The best advice I can give you both as a Mother
Is to always respect and show love to each other.
Look to heaven above in thanks when things are good.
Remember they won’t last forever, if not as they should.
Shower each other with daily hugs and kisses.
Don’t hold a grudge or always insist on your own wishes.
You both are different but I’m sure you’ll adjust,
As you’ve already made me so proud I could bust.
As a Mother and Mother-in-Law, I promise to be
Not interfering or judgmental, you’ll see.
And if I don’t, you can read me this poem
And say Mom “It’s time to go home.”
Love and happiness from both Dad and I,
And may you most often see a blue sky.
