It comes unexpected
Not invited
But it attracts the attention
from others
Bursting in-- even through the tiniest cracks
Glacial tips and
frosted rooftops.
It announces it's presence
with glittering skies and fireplace snuggles
The white angel tears fall
bringing children joy.
And when
Its time is up
only few care to notice it leaving.
Care to watch as it slips out the backdoor
Quiet as a mouse.
It leaves gifts.
Many indeed!
It has always allured us into it's lethal grasp
Never to do any harm at all.
For the few who did not to witness it's departure
It was only pined after when the
Festivities commence.
Winter
Oh Winter
We have been daft to think you would stay a while
For you have plenty more to visit.
