Write a letter and you will surely be surprised
Of what you receive back from the other guy
Sometimes I write to a friend just to keep in touch
Finding that their letters back to me mean so much

When writing to family we all keep up to date
And they tell me for my letters they anxiously wait
Pictures and post cards and other such treasures
I look forward to getting with great measure

If someone I hear needs to be lifted up in prayer
I am sorry to know but for them I'll be there
Sometimes a nasty letter I just may have to write
Getting a satisfactory answer fills me with delight

You never know when a pen pal you pick
May teach you a lot and give your life a big lift
So if you want to add happiness to your life
Don't put it off write a letter tonight
