A conscience is that wee little voice That comes to us in times of trouble It directs our actions of choice By giving us advice on the double We can choose to take it and come out ahead Or if we ignore it and take the consequences Our life may soon become full of dread As we wished we had used our common senses You know what is right the little voice says But wouldn't it be fun to just this once Go against what the little voice threatens We will end up feeling like a big dunce By listening to this antenna built right in We'll surely save ourselves a whole lot of grief Certainly we'll lead a life with less sin And From so many pitfalls we'll not need relief Open your ears and listen real hard And don't give into temptation For you know you'll be sorry right away And soon be looking for redemption © Copyright 1997 by Jean E, Gorney
