“Okay, I’ve chosen the partners for out photography contest. Laura and Max, Chloe and Fernando, Noah and Christina, Bethany and Daniel, Sarah and Cole, Maria and Nicholas, Xander and Lina, Jenifer and Tony, Samantha and Benjamin, Alison and Tyler, and Piper and Shawn.” Of course I would be partnered with Satin himself, Shawn Menlow, the Mr. Popular. He had all the girls after him, all of them except me that is. I personally don’t go for those kind of guys. Sure he was hot with his bleach blond hair that ran past his eyes of ocean, and sun tanned skin, but he could be the last guy on earth and I still wouldn’t go for him. “Class is dismisses, remember, the photography project is due on Friday, have a wonderful weekend students.” As I packed my stuff up I heard footsteps coming towards me from behind. “Brains!” Yelled Shawn, I turned around and gave him a murderous gaze. “If looks could kill I’d be in Heaven by now.” (More like Hell) I thought to myself. I was never really religious, unlike my catholic parents. I considered myself to be non religious, because I just didn’t see how one person could have so much control over billons of lives everyday. “Just because we were partnered up together doesn’t mean I have to like it.” I turned back around and continue packing up. “What’s this?” He asked as he picked up my latest sketch, I turned around and reached for it, but he held it up so I wouldn’t be able to get it. “This is amazing.” He pointed to the picture of a moon shadowed by a cat sitting on a fence. I jumped up and snatched it from him, “It’s not that good.” I already knew my drawings were awful, I tried capturing life, for instance, I saw a cat sitting on a lamp post so I grabbed my pencil and started sketching. It took me a few weeks to finally finish it. “Are you kidding me, it’s amazing. You should see my drawings, they look like a kindergartner.” His face looked very serious I couldn’t help but laugh, he always looked so happy, so seeing him like this was pretty amusing. “Your face looks like a kindergartner.” He rolled his eyes as I tried my best to contain my laughter, if there was one thing I was self conscious about, it would have to be my laugh. I think it’s annoying, and I don’t want to be bullied again... “That doesn’t even make sense.” The tone in his voice broke me, and I couldn’t hold back anymore, I started laughing and he was genuinely smiling. Maybe there’s more to this guy than I thought.
