"Honey wake up you’ll be late again”. I cracks my eyes to see my mothers stern eyes, with a hint of annoyance. “Not today mom I hit my head last night trying to find my pillow”. She tries to hide her grin but she never was good at being serious when it came to my jokes. “Well I guess I can tell Amanda you won’t be accompanying her today”, she pause “I think I saw that McFarland boy trying to talk to her too”. I spring up and yell “that thieving basta-”, I catch myself at the nick of time, before my moms hand can ruin my morning. “I’m about to get dressed can you get out”. She lowers her hand, smiles and leave. Amanda Long, just thinking of her name makes my heart flutter, “I need to hurry before that bastard steal my women”. I throw on some cloths and rush to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I look in the mirror but instantly look away, thinking about how kids make fun of me because of my looks and cloths. “Hey ugly I see you decided to step it up, there’s only four holes instead of five”. My classmates would screech of laughter, I often caught the teacher laughing to but I be to ashamed to say anything back. The only one that doesn’t make fun of me or judge me is Amanda. She has always given me hope, and another reason not to do something to harm myself and honestly if it was foe her I’d have ended my life years ago. She great and I would be damned if I’d let a person like Rick McFarland take her away from me. I say good bye to my mother and see Amanda with a annoyed look on her face. “What took you so long, do you know how long I have been waiting”? “Calm down its only been 10 minutes” “It felt like forever especially since that jerk decided to hit on me again”. “Alvin I know I say this a lot but I really hate him”. I chuckle, “what he say this time”. “Just the usual” she uses her mimic voice “How could u hang out with that poor kid, I have millions on millions I can buy you everything you could ever want”. “He does know your rich right”? “he thinks because his family have the most money nobody else can buy what they own”. We continue to joke and laugh as we make our way to the classroom.
