#36 THE CAVERNS Read Count : 123

Category : Poems

We walk down some steps deep into the earth.
The air is so damp and so is the ground.
A whole different world we see has its birth.
We can hardly believe what we’ve found.
Big icicles are hanging down from the top,
Stalactites I am told are their names.
But the stalagmites are what are amazing to us,
They grow from the floor and look much the same.
We walk along a path that is rocky and wet
And we cross over some water in a still pool.
Oh, I love how still the water looks and yet,
We hear trickling and it’s oh so cool.
The colors are beautiful as we shine light
On rocks and glistening water like dew.
Soon we see it is starting to get bright
As we climb on out to a outside view.
