#31 A TRIP TO THE PARK Read Count : 112

Category : Poems

Sub Category : N/A
Dad says, “It’s Sunday, let’s take a drive.”
We’ll go to the park, the one with the slide.

So Mom and Dad and we children three
Hop in the car shouting out with glee.

Down the winding road, it’s not all too far.
We ride along between the trees in our car.

Then we arrive at an opening so big and wide
With swings from the trees, a sea-saw and glide.

We can’t wait to exit the car and run free.
A day at the park is just what we need.

A lake’s in the middle and we see some boys fishing.
“The Big One” is what we’re sure they are wishing.

The stream of water turns into a brook,
And we hop on the stones for a closer look.

Be careful! Dad says as he heard the water rumble
Before head over heals into the brook you tumble.

Soon we are all gathering down by the car,
And a wonderful day we had without going far.
