Rising amidst a Harrowing Storm

She was sweet yet naughty, shy yet cheerful
She was endearing and cute, loved and cared by all,
She was confident yet innocent like a playful little doll
~~
She thought the world to be a beautiful place
And that’s what made her vulnerable
Her innocence led her to believe that everyone is nice
But alas! she was still only a child
~~
Little did she knew that her life was soon about to become upside down
From playing with dolls, to being played around
~~
She was molested, she was abused, she was harassed around
Alas her life, full of innocence, was turned upside down
She cried, she screamed, she begged to be left alone
That monster would not budge and would continue with the heinous crime
~~
She wanted to tell her parents and family what she was going through
But they alongwith the world would never believe
~~
The smile turned into a frown, playfulness turned to fear
Her confidence was shattered, her self-esteem battered
Life turned into a nightmare, which would continue lifelong
~~
She went into a shell, and put up a façade
Showing the world everything is normal, yet she was broken apart
~~
The molesting continued, the pleas went down
Coz she knew there was no one to help her now
~~
She felt guilty and blamed herself for not stopping the abuse
The pain and trauma would leave her in distress
~~
Fear of being ridiculed kept her quiet
And from being playful, she grew up to be sad and alone
~~

Not trusting anyone neither making friends
She built a wall around her which she wanted no one to break
~~
Years of fighting with herself turned her sour
She was running away from her past, yet she never ran far
~~
The abuse had stopped, but the scars remained
Life was going nowhere, the struggles grinding her down
~~
Then one fine morning, she woke up with fright
She felt she could not take it anymore, and wanted to end her life
So got up from bed and looked outside
And then she decided to commit suicide
~~
But as she tried to end her life,
Her inner voice told her to stop coz its time to fight
~~
She washed her face and looked into the mirror
And banished herself for almost giving up
~~
She finally realized that she its her own fight
She has to win this battle, to have a peaceful life
~~
So she gathered courage to start a new phase of life
The power of a woman she began to realize
~~
She decided to break her silence and speak up for herself
Let others think what they want, but she will never take a step back
People started believing her and came for support
But she dint really need it, coz she was ready to embrace her troubles and all
~~
With this new found will, she started feeling better
To teach a lesson to that monster, she was burning with rage
~~
Finally she got what she wanted since long
Getting the devil punished and sending out a message aloud
For all those victims to stop blaming yourself, coz u r not at fault
Stand up against it, will help you stay strong
~~
The scars and pain have lessen down
The wound is healing and life is thriving again
The smile, mischief and cheerfulness has returned
Coz she now has the inner peace which she wanted since long
~~
And now she is strong, a courageous young lady
Holding her head high, coz she was never wrong!!!
