Throughout life I took it all
For granted;
Until I learned what gave me
Freedom.
One day it all changed when I
Learned about the military;
I wish I can thank them.
Thank you to those who fell
And survived;
My heart aches for you and those
Fell I'll remember them.
When I place my eyes upon the
Scene of war;
Tears burn my eyes,
I still believe every single day a
Hero never dies.
I can't imagine what's it like;
To have an enemy in sight,
Thinking if their families wait;
I wouldn't sleep at all at night.
So thank you again to all who serve;
God will hold you close,
The greatest respect any can give
Is what you all deserve.
