Mask Of Silence Read Count : 107

Within the silence that she keeps,
are nightmares burrowed deep.
From this silence she does not peek
Her innocence this world does seek.
Siphoning from the mild, the meek.
here within silence is where she sleeps.

Loathing from a people who never give,
That which is taken from desires within.
An aching need that grows, longing to live.
Tree of life, that only asks to live.

A story told, as old as father time.
One of which is all mine.
Fear that grows like a creeping vine.
From a soul shattered once upon a time.

Behind this finely crafted mask,
hidden for the courage I lack.
Fearful of just one more crack,
In this, painted, crafted fragile mask.

Judge me not for the bravery I may lack,
For once upon a time, I needed no mask.
Seek out truth in what you hear is what I ask,
Before you judge based upon this mask.
