You spoke those words for the first time today
Not in the context that I had dreamt about
But nonetheless you spoke
My heart shattered
Millions of marbles scat scattered
Only a millionth of how I feel
How my breathing halts and my lungs collapse before I could say them back
Even if I could, I cannot match you
My words are weighted and I have waited to let leave my tongue
I stayed silent but not unresponsive
I smiled. With teeth and burnt cheeks
You stalled your pace
Hasty to leave until I stayed
Why do you play these games?
