I turn to find a boy, practically sitting on top of my dresser, glowing in the pitch blackness. He wore dark pants, a grey hoody that's pulled over his head, black, inky hair that covers almost half of his face, crystal blue eyes that sparkle as they stare at mine, and pale white skin that illuminates as he glows. I jump back to the point I fall off my bed. I scramble to my feet and back myself to the wall, holding my hands up in defense. "Whoa, whoa, chill," he says as he smoothly, slides off my dresser and onto the floor. "I'm not going to hurt you." "Who are you," I demand. "I'm Lucas," he responds. "I'm what people call in my world, a Seeker." "A Seeker," I repeat. "What the hell is that?" "A Seeker is someone who finds special people like you from this world and brings them to the other realm which is my world," he explains. "What," I ask, clearly confused. "I know it's hard to believe and I promise I'll explain everything to you later," he assures. "But right now we don't have much time." "What makes you think I'm going with you," I ask. "I don't even know you." "Yes, that's true but would you rather take a chance with me, or dwell more in this hell of a house?" I thought for a moment and found his point made. "How do I know you're not bullshitting me," I ask. "Because if I was, I would've already done it," he says. "Now come on, we need to go now before the portal closes!" "What portal," I ask. Suddenly, rays of light start piercing through my closet, becoming brighter and brighter by each second. I walk towards it, mesmerized by its brightness as I carefully place my hand on the doorknob. I hesitated for a moment, considering that I've never seen light this bright before until I felt Lucas's hands over mine. "It's okay," he says, smiling warmly down at me. The kind of smile that no ones ever given me before. I nod to him and take a deep breath before I open the door, welcoming all the light in my dark room. The light that took me awhile to adjust to before I was able to see through it. I couldn't help but smile for it's my first time actually feeling happy. My first time actually stepping out of the darkness and literally into the light. And my first time actually forgetting about the dark world I'm about to leave behind. "Are you ready," Lucas asks. I look to him, already mesmerized by his blue eyes. I don't know how or why, but for some reason I feel safe around him. Safe as if he's always been there during my struggles. "Yes," I say. Lucas smiles then grabs my hand. With a deep breath, we both walk into the light together, without looking back.
