                           Chapter 2

"Hey mom,dad,"said Tyler when they got out the car."What are you doing out here as cold it is out here?"said Tylers mom."I was just walking Emily home,"i said.Tylers dad ruffled his hair and waited at the door for mother to get out her house keys."Sorry,"i said.Mother made a smile then unlocked the door.I took off my jacket and went up into ny room.I opened my dead sisters diary,and finished reading the page.I read out loud:"There is a secret door hidden somewhere.Its in the basement.Remove the couch find a key and unlock the hidden door.I have no more clues to tell the person who is reading this.Its all i know.Make sure to find 3 rats in the middle of the night."
          I got cheese from the kitchen and set it down next to my bed.I went in my bed,turned off the lights,and pulled the cover to my chin.I was waiting.And waiting.Then,at 2:00 in the late morning,i heard mouses.As they went to the cheese,i counted.1,2,3....4.Weird.The mices then went out the door,but i jumped out of bed and followed them.I tip-toed down the stairs of the basement,and removed the couch.There was a little door there.It had a keyhole.
           I went in the basement drawers searching everywhere for the key.No luck.I finally realized there was a folded paper next to the couch.I picked it up,and un-folded it.I read the paper in a whispering voice:"The key.They key's upstairs in the kitchen 6th drawer."The sixth drawer."But the 6th drawer is stuck,and wont open,"i said in a whispering voice.I slowly went up the stairs.When i reached the 6th drawer,i tried opening it.I pulled it with all my might.No luck.
            Finally,i got a knife out and  it between the drawer.I pulled.After a few more minutes,it came open.I got the black key,and sneaked back downstairs.I put the key in the keyhole.Before i could turn it,something pulled me back.I spun around.A hideous,spidery,hairy,looking beast.Its mouth opened wide.My face in horror,i stood there frozen.Then,its face came closer to mine.
