We were five. Our powers just coming. I was moon and he was sun. Two opposites but perfect for each other.

He always had this gold jewelry on and the most wonderful tan. We were instant friends. The jewelry was similar to mine but I only had silver....Anyways, on with the story.

My mother picked me up from my bed and i hid in her arms as she walked me out of my room. I was shy, very very shy, especially to strangers. My silver jewelry that my older sister gave me clanked and banged around on my neck. She said that I could wear it forever, that it was encrusted with magic that would make it fit perfectly on me at all times and it will never rust or fall apart. I kept it on though because it reminded me of her, she was usually gone nowadays, taking care of stuff in the human realm.

Soon enough my mother entered our big living room and I peeked out and squeaked before hiding my face again. Who was that boy? He looked so bright and friendly and his jewelry shined brightly like the sun. Just like his eyes that were golden. Just like how mine are silver.

"Owen. This is Crow." The woman that was behind Owen said.

"He is shy but he will come around eventually. You just have to give him some time and patience." My mother said softly. I looked up at her.

I kept her in my arms as I looked back at Owen and his mother. I blinked then tilted my head. He had the sun on his chest. Just like how I had the moon on mine. Underneath our jewelry of course.

Owen smiled at me brightly and I smiled back before I caught sight of his mother and hid my face again. I held onto my mother tightly but soon I was pulled off her and set down in my play area with Owen.

I looked around for my blanket and my mother handed it to me. I immediately wrapped it around myself and glanced over at Owen then went over to my corner and sat there with my wooden griffin, playing with it silently.

Owen soon came over though and he sat next to me cheerily. "Hi Crow." He smiled at me as I looked up. I blinked and tilted my head. "Can you speak yet?" I nodded and he tilted his head. "Why don't you? Is it because you are so shy?" I nodded again and he nodded back. "Oh. OK. Well then, I won't speak either so you won't feel uncomfortable."

I smiled. I think I might like this one. Maybe we can be friends. I looked at my griffin then lifted it up and gave it to him so he could play with it. He smiled and looked at his wooden dragon and gave it to me.

We smiled at each other and played for hours on end until our mothers came in, with a smile and soft chuckle before picking us both up and walked to the dining room. I looked over at Owen.

Friend.

Yes. He is my friend.

Owen is my friend.

I smiled over at my new found friend and giggled then looked down at the dragon in my hand that he gave me. I will always keep this. I held it close to my chest as I looked over at dinner.

We finished dinner and we were sent off to bed since the two would be staying for a few days. We slept in my room, I gave him my bed to use and I just slept on the floor where I usually ended up at anyways.

The middle of the night though I started having a nightmare. Owen woke me up and looked at me. "Wake up Crow. It's just a nightmare." I looked up at him with fear in my eyes then I hugged him and snuggled up to him, feeling comforted by his presence. I fell asleep easily and slept peacefully with him...
