I don't know how good this is. I've had it in my mind for the past week, and it's weird.
Just warning you :P

A girl sits alone in a room. A room with no window, no furniture, no door. An empty room, with nothing in it except loneliness and despair bouncing off the walls. The walls. That’s what gets her. The room has four wooden walls, one wooden floor, and one wooden ceiling. The only interesting thing in the room is the slot. The slot is in the middle of one of the four walls. It is too high for the girl to reach, so all she can do is look at it. You may be wondering what this girl is doing in this strange room, but that is unknown. The girl has been in the room for as long as she can remember. That’s why she doesn’t complain. Because this is all she’s ever known.

The girl never knew when it was day or night. Her food is given to her through the slot, and of course when it falls to the ground, it smashes against the floor. So her meals were never grand. The only thing she ever looked forward to was the boy.

The boy would slip letters and other pieces of paper through the slot for her to read, even though he wasn’t supposed to. The papers were almost always educational, he gave her the basics in everything, and grew off of that. The girl learned to read, write, and live in the little wooden room. Alone.

Some days the only thing that kept her going was the boy. She knew he was real. He seemed so real. She loved his handwriting, the way he wrote was suited for a novelist, or a great journalist.

But the thing that made her heart melt the most was his signature.

This sounds very similar to a book called "The Impossible Fairytale". If that is your writing style, this would be a good read for you.
