In The Air She Flew Read Count : 124

She sprang from
the old rickety shack
without one single
second to lose
like a bat out of hell
But this had been
far worse than hell by
the way the sisters had
graphically described it
She would rather burn
eternally with googly-eyed drool factories
than spend one more
day in that madhouse
in the city of the lost
the lucky heir to a
recently relocated
mental hospital's leftover patients
She looked around some
as she mulled over
her minimal choices
But then she turned up
another alternative
and headed toward
the nearby airport
booking an overnight
flight to anywhere
There's no place like
home or this place
Only one of the latter
would be sufficient
But she was going home
Leaving hell's evil twin
in her trail of dust
Up into the air she flew
She was going to fly
to her moon and stars
a dream but not as far
Flying high in the sky
in anticipation of a
fresh new shot at life

  • Good, a little slow starting and a little bit of a cleché at the start, but good.
